Rafting, camping, and fishing on the Amga River. Itinerary: Upper Amga – Onnes village (390 km)
The Amga River. Catamaran rafting, camping, and fishing. Would you like to relax with friends away from the cities in the tranquility of pristine nature? Do you want your vacation to combine good times with excellent fishing? Then this is the place for you!
The Amga River is one of the most beautiful rivers in Yakutia, and more poems and songs have been written about it than any other river in the region.
In this part of the route, the Amga River is surrounded by mountains, and its banks are adorned with high, sheer cliffs made of ancient Cambrian rock.
The Amga is a warm river, with water temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees Celsius on hot days. The river’s bends are abundant with sandy shoals, where it’s convenient to set up camp.
The river is rich in fish, and the caught trophies will satisfy any angler’s desires.
Many fishermen ask, “Is there taimen in the Amga?”
The answer is, “Yes! There is taimen in the Amga, although large specimens weighing 20-25 kg are rare. However, we catch taimen very infrequently, usually no more than one taimen per trip, and our record for taimen on this river is 12 kg.”
For transportation, we use 6 to 7-meter inflatable catamarans with outboard motors.
The group is equipped with all necessary camping gear and communication devices.
The tour is registered with the rescue service, which monitors the group throughout the entire route.
