Kolyma Auto Tour. Itinerary: Yakutsk-Oymyakon-Magadan (Summer season)
The road began construction in the 1940s by Dalstroy, known to the public as the GULAG (Main Administration of Camps and Places of Detention). Despite the ongoing reconstruction of the highway, the spirit of Stalin’s era is preserved in these places.
From mid-August, autumn begins here, and it is special! Saying goodbye to the short summer, the valleys, mountains, and shores of the Indigirka and Kolyma are covered in golden hues. Here, it is truly a golden autumn!
Unforgettable impressions will be left by encounters with the residents of Oymyakon – the coldest place on our half of the planet. They are preparing for the winter, during which they will live for several months at temperatures ranging from -50 to -65 degrees Celsius.
